About Huckleberry Haul’s Founder
Hi, I’m Jennifer, the heart behind Huckleberry Haul.
I moved to Spokane in the summer of 2021 after marrying my husband, Tyler, and following love (& adventure!) to the Pacific Northwest. Before that, I grew up in the middle of nowhere Wyoming. Truly. I was raised on a cattle ranch 45 miles from the nearest grocery store, where hard work, creativity, and community weren’t optional. They were essential.
A life rooted in service and creativity
I’m the oldest of four, raised by parents who truly did it all. Operators, mechanics, caretakers, cooks, problem-solvers. From a young age, I learned responsibility, resourcefulness, and what it means to show up for people. Those lessons still shape everything I do.
My career path took me through floral design, veterinary work, rodeo, and ultimately into medicine. I earned my degree in biomedical sciences, attended PA school in Las Vegas, and spent years working in emergency medicine and trauma at a busy county hospital. I’ve now been practicing medicine for over a decade, and I still serve in rural Alaska Native villages whenever I can. Places that remind me of home and the importance of access, care, and connection. I’ve always loved hosting. Growing up isolated, gatherings mattered. Birthdays, holidays, weddings. These were sacred moments of togetherness. I love making people feel seen, welcomed, and celebrated in ways that are thoughtful and personal.

A business built on heart, family, and faith
Today, Tyler and I run this business together. We’re in a season of building a life, planning for a family, and finding balance.
This allows me to continue medicine part-time while fully embracing my creative calling. We love working together, serving our community, and being part of people’s most meaningful memories.
We love Jesus, our family, the outdoors, and time spent fishing, hiking, and exploring this beautiful region. We share life with our dog Josie, our ducks, and our goats Teddy and Poppy. They may one day make guest appearances as greeter goats. (Yes, really.)
I’m a mix of introvert and extrovert, drawn to meaningful conversations, genuine hugs, and unhurried time together. I find joy in working with my hands, whether I’m caring for patients, building something beautiful, or designing an event space that feels just right.
